The studies dedicated theoretical and applied aspects of the methodology and the using of digital elevation models in the research: variability of soil; improved methods of large-scale mapping of soils and their prediction; expansion of set of morphometric parameters of relief for this purpose; the study of problems of water erosion. Сonsiders the problems of the theoretical framework and algorithm for generating mathematical and cartographic hydrologically correct DEM based on hexagonal raster. Also offered cooperation to create modules GRASS GIS that will simulate a hexagonal DEM; build a predictive map of soils; adapted to the requirements of hexagonal raster model of water erosion/deposition SIMWE.
